Chillspacing: How to Have the Coolest and Most Creative Office in the World
As part of my 2011 Lotus Awards hosting duties, I recently visited top ad agency Rethink to put my cool/creative workplace theories to the “IRL” test, and lead a guided video tour outlining some dynamic action items for anyone who wants to transform their own office or workplace into the trans-media creative live-work-play biosphere of their dreams, with Bon Iver Muzak and everything!
I really enjoyed making this. Please watch.
A quick poster I did up the other day in work as a favour for my boss. I had fun making this because I didn’t have to stick to any brand guidelines or the like. It’s a shame I can’t post more stuff I do in work though.
Designers vs Coding
“Do I need to know how to code?” is a question that comes up with sure-fire consistency in design circles. I’ve seen it asked by so many, from uncertain design students in classrooms worried about their chances of landing a job, to seasoned professionals at conferences seeing their pool of print projects slowly evaporate. The question is being asked with even greater frequency as of late, because Adobe has launched their product Muse, which promises designers the ability to “create unique websites without writing code.” So, if a designer wants to work on the web, should they take the time to learn this dastardly “code” or instead rely on software like Muse?
Starting listening to a lot of Reggie Watts yesterday after hearing him on Radiolab and coincidentally stumbled across this great poster today.
